What was the Black Hole?

On October 13th, the Fortnite map was consumed by a black hole.

Fans were left un-able to play the game for 36 hours until it returned on the 15th.

This event marked the end of Chapter 1, which had run for 10 seasons since the game's release in 2017.

Chapter 2 brought with it a brand-new map following the destruction of the previous one which had been in place since the beginning.

It also introduced multiple new mechanics, such as picking up downed teammates (or enemies) and either carrying them to different locations or throwing them, and also the ability to swim and fish for loot.

The Black Hole event was described by many as the "end of an era."
