Any journalist will tell you the key to a good interview is having a solid relationship with the person you are speaking to.
This is even more true when it comes to speaking to a child as they tend to go into their shells when put in front of a camera.
As arguably my most important interviewee, it was essential that Lillie, aged 11, felt comfortable talking to me.
The first time I spoke to her (see previous entry) I mentioned how I regret not asking questions which got her talking.
This time around I allowed her to almost dictate the direction of the interview by asking far more open-ended questions.
I wanted her to explain to me in her own words why she personally loved playing Fortnite.
When I asked her 'what makes a good player', you could see her instantly relax and revel in the fact that she felt like her skills on the game were being acknowledged.
